About

Hi all!

Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Claire Carmichael, 38 years old and I am a registered nurse. I qualified in January 2020 and went straight into GP as a newly qualified GP Nurse. I went on to do my level 7 fundamentals of GP Nursing course and I now work within Transgender / non-binary healthcare services. I have set up a website for my Trans health page here: https://gc-health.uk/ for any resources and helpful information you might need to treat your trans / non-binary patients. Myself and my partner George (Hence the GC) set this up to educate people around trans health and we provide webinars to healthcare professionals. Get in touch if you would like to arrange this!

This blog has been my past three years at university and now my journey as a registered nurse. I would love to hear from other healthcare professionals on your experiences too, lets share stories, tips and advice. I love to travel, eat, photography and live life like it was my last – never regret not doing enough. Also if you aren’t health related, but are interested, give me a follow and a read.

I did a few things around my nursing degree which kept me motivated:

Health editor of the Birmingham City University magazine

• Official Birmingham City University Vlogger / blogger

Student Information Officer for the Royal College of Nursing

Student Academic Leader

Hello my name is campaigner

Health care assistant in sexual health and family planning for almost 6 years

• GPN ambassador / FAB change ambassador / Cavell Nurse Trust ambassador and fund raiser

  1. Hi Claire
I discovered your YouTube channel when I was in my first year at university studying nursing. I am so glad I found you. You have been my main source of inspiration. I also started my nursing degree as a mature student and it was nice to have someone who has walked the path giving advice. I have found your tips and advice very helpful as a student as well as a newly qualified nurse. Thank you for all you do. Congratulations on your new book I am looking forward to reading it.

      1. Hope you enjoyed it 🙂 Yes I have faith too. I’m glad I’m doing this a bit older… I feel like I can focus better and have more of an interest than if I had tried to do it in my early 20s 🙂

      2. That’s so true!! I definitely wouldn’t of been doing half the things I’m doing now at 20. I’d probably of failed back then to be honest. X
